Visiting Arnhem Land was a great experience. We crossed Cahills Crossing, saw open art gallery and aboriginal burial site. Then we visited Oenpelli. Best day ever!
We stayed at Muirell Campground, visited Yellow Waters, Sandy Billabong and Nanguluwur Art Site
Gunlom Falls are great place to relax. There is a big campground at the bottom of the falls, next to the plunge pool. Also, you can walk to the top of the fall and have a dip in a rock pool.
Gregory National Park is located 50 km off Victoria Highway. You can drive Bullita Stock Route, visit Bullita Homestead and see unique baobab trees.
Lake Argyle offers beautiful views over the lake, walking tracks and infinite pool at the caravan park.
Kununurra is a town where everybody stops after or before hitting Gibb River Road and going in/out from Kimberley. The town has a few attractions: Ivanhoe Crossing, Kelly's Knob Lookout, Mirima National Park and Lake Kununurra.

Kalgoorlie is a big mining town but the main attraction is Kalgoorlie Super Pit. Other things to see are the Museum of the Goldfields and the local market.
Before we started our adventure on Great Central Road we visited Lake Ballard sculptures by Antony Gormley and Gwalia ghost town.
Driving through the real outback is an amazing experience. We hardly passed any cars but spotted numerous wrecks.
First stop: Tjukayirla Roadhouse
We felt really isolated on this empty road without any soul around. In the first 2 days, we counted 202 car wrecks.

We successfully completed the first part of Australia Greatest Shortcut and stayed in Yulara.
On the way, we helped some strangers as their trailer broke down.
Kings Canyon walk was spectacular. I think this is the biggest canyon in Australia. The walls of the canyon are huge and the views are stunning.
We continued our longest Australia shortcut through Plenty Highway, stayed for a night at Arthur River free camping and finally enjoyed mining town of Mount Isa.
In our final stretch in Plenty Highway we saw dancing brolgas next to the road, then we passed a small Urandagi town to finally landed in Mount Isa.
Karumba is the place where we spotted dozens of dancing brolgas, wild pigs, wild horses, red-tailed black cockatoos and hundreds of wallabies.
Undara Lava Tubes reminded us what happened here millions of years ago. We went for a guided tour at the last minute as they were closing before the wet season.
Daintree National Park is a 180 million old, world heritage listed rainforest. We spent a few days visiting Daintree Discovery Centre, tasting exotic fruits and going for walks.
Port Douglas and its Four Mile Beach is amazing for us. It has this unique luxurious holiday atmosphere and tropical vibe that makes us returning to this town.

Airlie Beach was an excellent outpost for our reef world snorkelling boat cruise and Whitsunday Island and Hamilton Island adventures.
